Where is the focus today when planning for businesses?
Attracting and retaining employees was the number one choice selected as a top company focus. Following that, the highest priorities were increasing productivity, visually communicating brand and values throughout the office, and promoting health and wellness.
How does your company prioritize the following spaces?
Survey respondents ranked open plan workstations, meeting rooms, reception lobby, and touchdown spaces as the most important spaces in their workplace.
What are some building design issues your office is currently facing?
Key building design issues that employers are facing are an insufficient number of meeting rooms, inflexible interior design and furniture that don’t adapt well to change, insufficient storage rooms in the building and at desks, and acoustic discomfort.
How are new company processes, workflows, teams, and roles impacting your office?
Company processes, workflows, team, and roles are regularly in flux and impact the workplace. The top ways it’s being impacted is the need for more small collaboration spaces, the need to program by team rather than by department, and the need for more real estate for a growing employee headcount.
When planning for the future, what strategies would you want considered?
The most recommended strategies when planning for the future were better flexibility for future needs, better space planning and circulation, and adopting a user-centered design approach to increase employee productivity and happiness.
